Thank you for responding me. Me and my girlfriend have read your answer. She told me that his uncle has really only intended to abuse her but she screamed and her sister came in. His uncle was drunk and her parents weren't at home at this moment. And because nobody has been testimony of what had happened, nobody believed her. Some time later, her uncle stopped by her house again. He got down on his knees and begged her for forgiveness. She was thirteen years old and what had happened is that she had run into his room without knocking his door. Now she has asked me if she should apologize for that but I don't know what to answer her.

I think that she shouldn't do anything but leave it as it is. It happened a long time ago and it is time to put it away and try to forget. But hopefully and apart from the advice given, she will consult a psychologist. Regarding her uncle, I suppose it is a brother of either her mom or dad. Therefore she is not in the position at this age whether to forgive or not. Her parents should have reacted the moment when he begged for forgiveness if he did do it in front of her parents.
But if your girlfriend just cannot forget this situation and keeps worrying about apologizing, she should just go ahead and do it for her peace inside and her human feelings. As for you, I understand your feeling of solidarity but don't get yourself involved too much in her intern family situation. Take care of her, give her advice but don't go further beyond your actual degree of commitment with her. Asked by a boy from Salvador |
